The HP Envy TouchSmart m7-k010dx is a truly multimedia powerhouse laptop, thanks to its large and crisp 17.3-inch 1080p-resolution touch display, a built-in subwoofer alongside stereo speakers, and a top-tier Intel Core i7-4710HQ quad-core processor. To complement these high-end features, HP has included 12GB of RAM (although it’s an overkill for vast majority of users) and a large 1-Terabyte hard disk drive. The i7-4710HQ will effortlessly complete daily tasks of the average user, but its main advantage is excellent performance for video production and photo editing. The m7-k010dx, however, isn’t aimed at gaming. Graphics processing relies on the Intel HD 4600 IGP, which isn’t good for 3D game rendering on high details turned on. But, it can run modern games on lower settings and resolutions. If you play demanding games, you can check out some of the specialized gaming notebooks with more powerful dedicated video cards. Another premium feature missing on this model is IPS screen technology, which allows wider viewing angles and better color accuracy than the standard TN panels. Elegance of this unit is apparent right off the bat.
