The Sharp AQUOS 4:3 LCD 15″ TV is less than 3″ deep and has 170°/170° viewing angles so you can watch it from virtually anywhere in the room. The panel resolution of 480p (640×480) and contrast ratio of 500:1 provide an excellent picture. It can also receive HDTV programs and progressive DVD signals, has a 2.1W + 2.1W audio system, VGA Advanced Super View LCD panel with black TFT low-reflection coating and it includes a TV stand. Imported. 14-5/16Hx20-11/16Wx8-1/8D”. PleASINg to the eyes when it’s off as well as when it’s on, Sharp’s LC-15B6U-S LCD TV is little more than 2 inches deep yet produces a vivid, 15-inch image using Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View LCD panel. The space-saving set is a member of Sharp’s acclaimed AQUOS line, and it provides an ideal means for enjoying TV, DVDs, and/or videocassettes in the kitchen, bedroom, or dorm room. The monitor includes a built-in 181-channel cable tuner–feed it a cable-TV signal and you’ve got a high-resolution video display and a full-fledged television.

The screen’s 4:3 aspect-ratio is perfectly suited to most broadcast TV programs. This is an EDTV monitor, which means it’s a step closer to high-definition or HDTV than standard TVs. When used with a progressive-scan DVD player (or 480p-output DTV set-top box) you’ll get seamless, razor-sharp images from your favorite movies and concert videos. The set gives you a higher contrast ratio and wider viewing angles than conventional LCD screens–500:1 and a full 170 degrees viewing angle, vertical and horizontal–while its black TFT anti-glare coating makes it bright enough to view its rich colors with ease, even in well-lit rooms.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch “flyback” noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (with no risk of image burn-in), space savings, light weight/easy positioning, and energy efficiency (most LCDs use substantially less power than their CRT equivalents). They also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually “spec” higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio).

Weighing in at about under 12 pounds (with stand), the LC-15B6U-S is easy to position and reposition. The unit sits comfortably on any flat surface with the included stand, which detaches for wall mounting (with any compatible mounting kit, none included).

Component- and composite-video inputs accommodate everything from DVD players to VCRs, camcorders, and gaming consoles, and the set’s stereo speakers are powered by 2.1 watts per channel. With the LC-15B6U-S’s NTSC, PAL, and SECAM compatibility, you can view video sources from the U.S., Western Europe, and Eastern Europe, and all will appear properly formatted, provided you have the proper region decoding for any DVD sources. The screen offers 640 x 480 (VGA) resolution.

Other features include auto clock, which automatically sets the TV’s time clock for display on demand, a remote control, SAP (second audio program, for listening to alternate language tracks on select cable broadcasts), and V-Chip parental control (which lets you block TV content based on content ratings).
